Overview

LabVIEW applications are otfen used to communicate with serial devices. Even if the drivers for such devices are available, the development of a LabVIEW application can still be troublesome if the actual devices aren't available or if using the actual devices is impractical. Fortunately it is possible to create device simulators that will perform the actual serial communication and that can run on a separate computer but even on the same computer on which the LabVIEW application is being developed.
